We were given a monumental task for this 9 minute fundraising program for the Detroit Institute of Arts. The short film was created as a primary tool for the DIA to raise $145 million dollars for an extensive renovation of the museum's historic building and a re-installation of all its artwork. The film highlights the DIA's phenomenal collection which includes Van Gogh. Rembrandt, Warhol, Bellini, Gauguin, Monet, Manet, Rivera, Rubens, Cezanne, Seurat, and many, many more. Needing a way to visualize the new appearance of the museum's interior and exterior before construction began, we were commissioned to create the new museum completely in 3D virtual space, working only from blueprints and illustrations. HD museum and interview footage was captured inside the DIA galleries (imagine filming a foot away from a priceless Van Gogh!!), along with Steadicam and jib specialty footage. This footage was complimented and augmented with more 3D animation and motion graphics throughout the program.
